Statement of Use
When you file your application on an Intent-to-Use basis, the Trademark Office will not issue a registration until you prove that your mark is in actual use – which you do by filing a Statement of Use (“SOU”). Once the Trademark Office approves your Intent-to-Use application and issues you a Notice of Allowance (“NOA”), you have six (6) months to either prove use and file the SOU or file a request an additional six-month extension of time.
